At this time the Race Organizers are considering allowing the Cruiser Class only not only run engines (without putting them in gear) to charge batteries, but also for propulsion. The particulars are not yet completed. If this were to happen there would be logs to be kept, and times running the engine would be added to the score using a formula that includes the water line length of the vessel. There are many issues concerning this situation, such as traditions of being a Corinthian type sailboat race, the trophies that have been established for 48 years and not letting this become a motor/yacht cruise. Further Information will be forthcoming.
